White After Labor Day

I wore this outfit last weekend when the fall weather finally decided to make an appearance. All of a sudden it went from 90 degrees to 50 degrees which is pretty cold for this southern gal! This is a simple fall look I would typically pick out but I swapped my blue jeans for this pair of white ankle pants.

Easy Halloween Costume: Nancy Drew

There's always so much pressure when it comes to thinking of a Halloween costume and with the weekend festivities coming up quickly, you may be in need of some last minute inspiration. For me, the best kind of costumes are the ones where you don't have to buy anything new. I recently rewatched the Nancy Drew movie (the one with Emma Roberts, highly recommend!!) and was inspired to recreate her classic look with pieces I already had. The only thing I needed to finish the look was the headband which I already had and wrapped with a red grosgrain ribbon to match the dress.
To get the Nancy Drew look just pull out your best plaid pieces (a skirt or dress will do), some loafers (penny loafers preferably), and a headband. I added a sweater over my shoulders and carried a book but this is completely optional! Also, if it's going to be a little more chilly where you live you can layer a turtleneck underneath the dress like I did in this post and even add some tights.
With this classic look you will be ready for all kinds of sleuthing and Halloween activities!

What are y'all dressing up as for Halloween this year?

Friday Finds 10/21/2016

It's been quite some time since I did a Friday Finds post. I've been doing a pretty good job controlling myself when online shopping in college (it's just too fun getting a package in the mail). When I was home for fall break over the weekend I was able to do some shopping at the mall. My absolute favorite things I got were two shirts from the J. Crew x New Balance collection. I wasn't too excited about the collection when I saw it online but I wanted to buy everything in the store! How could you resist cute and comfy navy and white clothes... I also finally got a Swell bottle because my 32 oz Yeti tumbler was a little too big to carry around to class all day.

Tie Scarf + Denim Jumper

Gimme Glamour: Tie Scarf + Denim Jumper

Denim Jumper (similar) // Sweater (similar) // Riding Boots (this year's version)

I last wore this denim jumper styled for summer a few months ago and love how it looks with a cable knit sweater for fall. I've been loving adding scarves to all my bags recently but hadn't tried tying one around my neck yet and I love the fun touch this sailboat scarf adds. It's definitely a little more summery but can be transitioned into the fall with riding boots and a sweater. I kept the rest of this look pretty simple since the jumper and tie scarf are about as trendy as I get.

Anchor Fair Isle

Sweater (over 50% off!) // Jeans (similar) // Drivers
Sunglasses // Purse // Gingham Scarf (old) // Nail Color

Ok it's been a while since I did the whole blog post thing so bear with me on this one... I've been a bit MIA since I started school in August but my schoolwork is always my priority. I could talk about Elon forever but (to be quick): I'm loving my classes and have already gotten involved with so many great organizations and I couldn't be happier at Elon!
While I was home for fall break I was finally able to have some time to blog and take some outfit pictures with my dad. We had a (very brief) cold spell so I was able to pull out some of my favorite sweaters and dress like it's actually October. I got this anchor sweater last winter (last styled in this post) and it is definitely my favorite sweater I own. The sweater is currently on sale for under $40 until Tuesday so now is the best time to order it! I paired it with my favorite pair of jeans that were sadly discontinued and opted for these bit drivers since it's not quite cool enough to wear boots yet.
